Stop making me want a lathe. Heh.

- TonyTopper
Now that there is funny! I want a bigger lathe, but can't currently afford one. My lathe is a Rikon 12" lathe… no variable speed. It is about 15 years old. And I can put on it some of the biggest pieces possible.

And… you can do it… working a lathe doesn't take a great deal of time to learn. I did start out in the 1970's in Junior high… and dabbled with it ever since. But with a 45-degree bowl gouge and a bottom feeder… you've got it made.

That is a beautiful bowl. It is a classic with that spalted maple. I love the grain and mineral lines in it!!

You will love a lathe with electronic speed control . Look for that over a Reeves drive with the lever for speed adjustment. Check out the Nova with the DVR motor!!

cheers, Jim
