Project Information

Hi all

I though I would show a piece that does not include colouring and that is left in natural wood.
This piece is Spalted beech with a textured anjan lid and carved finial including a jewellery bead.

I have also included a close up picture of the lid to show the texturing.

It measures 200mm dia x 170 mm high and is finished in renaissance wax, this being a microcrystyline wax.

This type of work( lidded forms) is what I mostly do as I enjoy making them so much.

Most excellent Mark. I have some large pieces of beech kicking around, and wasn't quite sure want to do with them untill now.
Keep them coming.
Also next time could you include a conversion chart. Here in the colonies we just don't get the metric system.

Hi

thank you both for your comments.

I will in future use both moth metric and American measurment,if I can work it out , loll.

The texturing is done with a pyrography wire which is wound into a fine tight coil, this is then used to burn random textured into the surfaces. I find this sort of texturing gives a more natural/loose texturing.

take care

Mark I checked out your web site, found your collection of nicely turned pieces. Also I see you have a bucket truck. Can I barrow it? :).
