Nice box, at first glance I think it looks like spalted pecan as I work with it alot, the stripe of pink heartwood with the spalted sapwood looks like pecan. You did a nice job…

jack, I am building a box that looks quite similar in design to yours out of "beetle trailed' ash. Im trying to avoid being a knockoff artist by asking if you mind if I post it when its complete.?..

Nicely done….I really like the "distressed" wood. Ive seen lots of folks try to emulate that look without much success….it really takes time and natural forces to do this…and is very hard to artificially create.
