Project Information
This is my version of a fish themed cooling rack.

I do like the simplicity of the Popular Woodworking design but I decided to spice it up a little.
It sets completely flat, the horizontal rails are flush with the bottom, they fit into dado joints.
It can be turned over and hot pans can set on the bottom to keep the face fresh looking.
The head and tail are paduak and the ribs are maple.
The eye is a maple plug re-bored and plugged with wenge.
The finish is wipe on poly by Minwax.
It is about 16'' long x 9'' high and 3/4'' thick.
I do have several other versions in the works.
This was a gift to our very good friends Matt and Alison who are celebrating their anniversary.
