Project Information

Have loved the wide arms of the sofa, but not quite stable enough for a drink or bowl. Well, in a few hours this handy project was the answer. Certainly I'm not the first to think of this and it could not be more simple. I'm thinking I will try one for my chair and take it as an opportunity for a crack at hand cut dovetails? Wood was a piece of hickory flooring that was free because of the varied color (best part) with a few coats of Arm-R-Seal.

Varied colored board! Gasp! Get rid of it! Burn it! Get it out of here!

Seriously, though, great design and lumber choice.

Thanks for all the comments! I figured it was a simple thing, but some of my friends and work friends have really responded to it. Some have even asked for price for me to make one! Some of my first commisions! lol. I have a few more projects i need to get posted- wife is about to have a baby and i will probably have some down time to get a few more pics up. Thanks for the kind words all.

Very cool wood design, digging it a lot! The tight joinery helps as well.

Every since I saw your arm table, I've been trying to figure out how to build one for my curve arm furniture. I may have to build some block armed furniture just so I can build one of these ultra-cool tables. Beautiful job.
