Project Information

I am very new in the wood working industry. I come from a plastic laminating back ground. I plan on getting into a lot more of the rustic look furniture. Any help? Please be nice, like I said I'm just getting started and would love to become great at this. This is the first project I've done using logs. Built November 24, 2010.

Those look awesome! nicely done. Ive got a big slab of oak with a nice natural edge that I want to use to make a side/coffee table kinda deal and have logs for the legs like youve done. Great inspiration

I like your willingness to use twisted and bent logs. I also like that look. But I am a bit worried about the joiner… Are you using mortise and tenons or just nails/screws?

Thanks rivergirl, I have a buddy that builds beds and will only use straight logs. I asked him about twisted logs and he told me it was to mush work.!? So I wanted to try it. I made a bed and the stools using 3" and 4" screws. Everything I've made from logs so far is for my own home. I wanted to do this to make sure its going to hold up. I plan on getting the tenon maker.
