Project Information

Hello all,

This was the second project I made in my high school shop class, it's been sitting for a year or two so I thought I'd bring it out and take pictures; it's made out of many pieces of ash. It is bound by metal wire which was the hardest part of the entire project as far as making a nice tight fit of the pieces while being able to cover the wire with plugs; blood was shed, that wire is sharp!

Nice job. Interesting design. Did you invent it?

No I didn't; my shop teacher had one like it that we looked at and altered a little bit. It is actually very comfortable though.

I like this design and just may have a go at one of these.
You did a nice job on it.
We never had cool things like this to build in school shop, back in the stone-age.

hey I built one of these awhile ago as well. I used 1 - 2×10x8 cut into 1inch strips and put together using all thread with locking nuts. The first time assembling can be a trick, but once you figure it out goes smoothly. Really enjoy the chair as it sits comfortably and makes a great camping/fishing chair.
