This board has a background and accent stripe of New Guinea Rosewood with the main weave of Tasmanian Blackwood and the other accent is Purpleheart. I hope the pics are big enough and there is a bit more detail.
I love the look of these type of boards. I especially like the wood combination that you used here. The board in the foreground looks good but I really like the look of the one in the background. "Picture framing" it like you have done adds a "formal" look to the board. Great job, David.
Not a "Board" it is actually the top of a coffee table. I like the different look different timbers give the same style design. Next project is a tumbling blocks design in [you guessed it] New Guinea Rosewood and Tasmanian Blackwood …. with European Wild Cherry.
The board in the foreground really has a noticible 3D look to the weave, at least in the pictures. I think it's the purpleheart accent giving it a bit of a shadowline. Does that effect show up to the eye if you step back a bit from it?
The effect is if possible more noticeable in real life, the pics are good but still don't show the boards to their full.
Thanks for noticing and commenting.
Although I actually make money selling my creations , it is the satisfaction of a job well done and the appreciation of fellow woodworkers and also other non woodworkers that fuels my passion more than the money.
Hope I don't sound too…???
