Simple but as useful as it gets

Great idea to make this tray for your spoon. I guess most work was to make it fit to your spoon. It's a nice piece of work.
Since you ask for it:
You used electrical tools in mostly every step of the proces, if I understand you right. In a next project you might try to do it all by hand. You will feel that is a total different experience.
For quite some years I tell the children which I teach to make a spoon that when you spent hours and hours to make it (most of them need about ten lessons) you might invest in sculpting the handle to make your spoon different from any other spoon. You did this by making the fitting tray.
When you want to use your spoon for cooking you could use the oil you use for cooking to preserve your spoon. Mineral oil might give a strange taste to the food and might contain additions you don't want to eat.

Don't want to sound like a grumpy old teacher, sorry if I do. Please go on making spoons. You have creative ideas, made a great piece of work and I like to use your tray as an aditional task for my children.

Mineral Oil has NO taste and is 100% safe to use on your wooden utensils , cutting boards , etc., and is meant to be ingested by humans. Cooking oils and vegetable oils become rancid and your spoon will smell nasty from them over time. Not a good way to keep customers !
