Project Information
I know its been a while since I've posted anything on here but I wanted to share a project I finished up a while ago.
My wife had been wanting one of my woodworking pieces to be in our house for once instead of other peoples. So I came up with this one for her. This was part of the slabs from the Silver Maple that I saved from becoming firewood. It had a decent bark inclusion from the crotch that I cleaned out really well and filled in with Enviro-Tek epoxy. First time I ever worked with epoxy and was very nervous. I had to sand like crazy with progressively higher grits until I actually used Fiber optic polishing paper to get it as clear as possible. Up close you can actually see more detail of the inclusion and the little "roots" that were inside of it.
This was a great project for me to start and finish, it was great to try new techniques that I was unfamiliar with.
I now have a couple of pieces that I was commissioned to make. Just the table tops no legs. Can't wait to get those going also.
