Project Information
Built a cart to house my shop vac and cyclone separator. As a new woodworker with unsteady hands, it was really, um, "educational" to be able to seriously use the jig-saw. I no longer fear it as much as I did when starting this effort.
The vac is an older Shop-Vac and it is married to a Rockler Dust Right Separator. Figured out I needed one so I added a cord manager after the fact which is working decently. Another lesson learned is to take more time really understanding the math involved when expanding the plan measurements to fit your vac/cyclone (I am horrible at math) so you can factor in a little "breathing" room. And yes, that is a wayward cut by the hole the cyclone sits in. Built from 3/4" plywood and finished with Varathane Light Walnut stain.
All in all, I would suggest folks try this as it was a lot of fun to build and is quite useful.
Plan can be found here.
Enjoy!
