Project Information

These are 2 more carts based on Lockwatcher's shop cart The sander cabinet houses also a craftsman belt sander my folks gave me years ago. I can swap out based on what grit I need ( I made it to actually be able to house both on top and roll around to use either, using different grits on either machine. The cabinet doors use real-earth magnets to close and are just big box store pine, ply and trimmed up studs. I counter-sunk the screws on this and covered with walnut plugs. The drill press cart was made first and I got a wild hair experimenting with stains and hated it so I painted it (other than the ply). I edge-banded the top 3/4" ply on that one. All that isn't painted has a coat or 4 of poly. Useful stands on casters (2 locking on each). Oh yeah, forgot I made the drill press table a while back with replaceable insert. It has honduran rosewood trim :)

Thanks for looking!

Strong and useful. Can't ask for more than that in a shop ;)

Kim, you bought that big box of eye bolts, didn't ya? Not a knock mind you, heck they work just fine.

Nice job, I'm sure you will get plenty of good use from it, and work stats show you will also be a lot safer, and more accurate with the tool at a comfy height. Just make sure it can't move around on ya.

Thanks for posting.

Very useful.
I do prefer drawers over doors so you don't have to stand on your head to see whats in the back on the bottom shelf.

I have no idea where they all came from! They've been in my tool box for as long as I can remember so I figure….why not make use of them! Some times you just gotta use what you got…. You're right about the height thing - that's why I've built many of these carts at what might be a strange height for some (especially tall guys!). The drill press was several inches higher previously. And the sander was a few inches lower. I think each is better now.
