Project Information

These are the first marking gauges i made a while back.

the one on the left i believe is Mahagony that was removed from an old dresser it uses a can opener blade to make the cuts and a t-nut with an epoxied piece of all thread placed in a cheap wooden pull.

the second is made from Tzalam scraps that was for another project. also some brass scraps and tack nails.
the thumb screw at the top is dropped into a threaded hole with a small dowel piece so it doesn't mar up the rail.
the cutter is a small allen wrench i grinded down on a bench grinder.

Nothing fancy just made to be used one day when i actually have the skill to make dove tails ..

Enjoy.

Thanks, I'd never thought of a can opener blade.
Innovation is the key.

Nice work, I agree with Oldtool, tools made are better than tools bought!
