Project Information

I had left over sheet goods and cut offs stacked everywhere to the point my shop was becoming non-functional. I decided to make a storage cart to take care of the problem.

After looking at several designs on the web, I came up with this one. I can store the sheet goods on one side and wood stock on the other. The side for storing the wood stock has adjustable shelves so I can vary it depending on what I need to store at any given time.

Since I have shelving to store up to 8' stock, I decided to make the cart to store up to 4' stock and sheet goods. It is also on casters so I can roll it out to access it and store it out of the way when not in use.

Hi, I tried to get to the download file but I couldn't get past the screen where I needed to install iCloud, Find my phone and another I forget what it was. Is this a new thing? Having to download apps before getting to a project?

Hi Thesilentguyinback -

Some time after I posted this project I expanded on the original sketchup file and now have a full plan set for this.

I should have removed the old information from the original project description at that time; I have just edited the post to remove that information now. Sorry for any confusion it caused.

I believe it is against the Lumberjock rules to sell from here and I'm not trying to do that - just explaining where the plans can be found: http://blog.plankandplane.com/lumber-storage-cart-plans/

Thanks,

Randy

Really nice - I have a question about use. Do you use the area "inside" the triangle, between the reclined storage and the shelves on the back, or is that empty? I'm squeezing inches in my tiny basement shop for a couple more seasons before I build a larger one, so every little bit helps. I am likely going to make that angle closer to 90 degrees with some way to ensure stock doesn't tip out, but am thinking maybe narrower pieces could go behind if I put some Support back there for them. Thanks!

Hi Allen -

I haven't used that space for storage but it may work to store stock in there vertically.

Thanks,

Randy
