Project Information
This is a new style of chair that I did for a customer. Since he is Greek he was wanting a Klismos style chair, but with my own flair. He bought four of my low back chairs and wanted some of those features implemented into this greek chair. The Klismos chair came about when the Greeks in ancient times (around 6th century) wanted a comfortable chair to sit and relax in. This style became popular again in the early 1900's by an architect. My version features the same seat joints that I do in my other chairs, along with a carved seat and the handshaping. The legs splay outwards and the back leg is shaped into the back rest, along with a 1/4" bead that runs along the top of the back rest. This was a popular chair at the mesquite show, since it was so different.
