William, Believe it or not, handle came from Lowe's. The stand is for her room and it's the one she wanted.

Dusty56, I thought about leaving it all loose and it seemed fairly rigid but I went ahead and glued the dadoes. Top is just attached with washerhead screws through oversized holes to allow for movement.

Design is my own, and could be argued is also somewhat arts and craft style.

"Night stand made of cherry. Through tenons with pegs. Drawer is box joinery. Size is roughly 15"x15"x26". Finish is one coat of boiled linseed oil, then satin poly sprayed with Earlex.
