Project Information
Been wanting to make some fancier or should I say more complicated treads for my models.
The jig I had been using finally died after many a wheel build so got to work making a new one and ended up making two.
One for strait treads that is able to cut 3 or more tires at a time to save time.
I make a lot more regular tires for trucks so once I saw that there would need to be changes in the angle making tread jig I was going to build I just left this one alone and started a new angle cutting jig.
Then an angle maker for those nice modern looking car tires.
This jig is set up for easy angle changes as different models need different angles to get the look needed.
Here's my strait wheel making jig blog.
And here's the angled blog.
I should add that with the angled tread jig you can make both strait and angled treads.
And an extra blog on making the tyres.
Here I need to add that both Dutchy and I have many more blogs on model building and there are so many more that I keep finding everyday here on Lumber jocks from way back..
I would like to add that over the last two or more years this site has helped me to build things I would have never dreamed of before finding this site, and it's by standing on the shoulders of others that we can learn and build great things for us and our loved ones.
