Project Information

This is the completed Seiza Bench (See-Za) in Oak. Picture three is the one in the background of picture one. It is unusual as is Spalted Wych Elm. I only got a few limbs from that tree though.
All oiled a few times then brought up with a beeswax mixture.

Non LJ's like to see a joint. Especially in rustic work. Also butterfly joints.
I saw some dovetail drawer in a store recently, they were printed onto the veneer.
Plus a through tenon wedged is far stronger and Seiza benches can take a lot of strain if the person starts swaying.
