Project Information

Thanks again to Alex for the inspiration to tackle this.
The wood used is Purple Heart, Ebony and Yellow Walnut, all pieces are separated with maple veneer.
I had to make a jig to cut the wedges which was a bit of a challenge for me, there must have been a dozen designs before I was happy with this one.
Then after the front and half the underside were turned there was another problem, turning off the tenon and finishing the bottom.
The piece was sanded to 400 grit and then finished with Yorkshire grit and Hampshire sheen.
The platter is 13" x 1" and consists of 226 pieces all up.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

C & C welcome.

Bob

That's awesome!

I wouldn't be upset if I saw some more detailed pics of your sled and how it attaches to your miter gauge either ;-)

Kudos to you Bob getting those great results I get dizzy just looking at it and would of gotten confused. Nice segment jig too, they're a life saver. Hey that would make a cool frisbee too.
