Project Information
Jr. Gentlemen's Fountain Pen - Pre Segmented Pen
If you have seen my previous fountain pen project with the Segmented Pen then this may be of interest. I made a long blank for the creation of the segmented pen since I knew I would lose a lot of material to the saw kerf. But I was left with enough uncut blank material to make this pen. So here you go, what the pen looks like without the "turned segmentation". I included a picture of the segmented pen for comparison.
Woods used to make the pen blank: Maple, Black Walnut, Mahogany, Yellowheart and African Mahogany.
Pen Kit: Jr. Gentlemen's II from Craft Supplies. Black Titanuim Hardware.
You will also see a smidge of Gaboon Ebony at the very top of the pen. This is to cover up a boo-boo when the tube stopped short of full insertion before the CA glue dried. Need to be quick with that stuff.
After turning I encased the pen in acrylic and polished it to a gloss sheen.
