Project Information

Segmented bowls are as easy or complicated as you want to make them. This is only the second one I've made and it was a very straightforward process.

I recommend using painters tape to assemble all the segments. That way you can glue them up rapidly then assemble the whole stack and clamp it.

I placed a scrap piece of plywood on the very top with a piece of paper separating the top ring and the plywood. I mounted a faceplate to the plywood and turned the outside and base. Then I broke off the plywood at the paper joint and rotated the piece to mount in a chuck to turn the top and inside.

It's really pretty easy and satisfying. Git it a try.
