Project Information

My first segmented ring bowl. I followed the instructions from the book by Don Jovag. I had to make a small change to the design ring when I messed up the spacer rings by not clamping them up properly and the outer edges splayed open and I couldn't save them.

After that goof up on my part everything went pretty well. Pretty much glue em up, true em up, and stack em up. Then turned it and glued up the bottom.

Finish is 3 coats of Salad Bowl Finish by General. This project was enjoyable and a lot of fun.
Thanks for looking.

Nice looking bowl there Dave. When I mess up a project it almost throws me over the edge lol. Nice recovery.

Thank you to all you guys. I appreciate your comments.

I'm milling lumber for my next one and also ordered a new lathe that has reverse from Woodcraft.

Nice! Did you use hose clamps for gluing/clamping the segments together or tape?

Hi Ryan, I use 2 6" hose clamps put together, this way I can tighten it on the segment ring from 2 directions.
