Project Information

here is a another new design fetcher ring that i came up with
and i thought i would share it with you and get your thoughts on it
it is 13 inches at the rim 8 at the bottom it stands 5 and a half tall
and it has a floating bottom
timber used is red oak purple heart and zebrano
the are 181 pieces it this one
finish is 6 coats of denish owl and buffed

what is your thoughts on this one all comments welcome
good or bad

Hi Branch,
I love the colour contrast. Also the floating bottom is a good idea. Did you fit that before the next ring or was it done after???
The pattern is very pleasing.

Beautiful! How did you protect the surrounding wood from the purple heart while sanding?

hi bob the floating bottom is set into the first ring then stack the next ring on top and so on till you have completed the bowl
jimbo i never have any trouble with the purple heart affecting the other woods
will sanding

It certainly is different, I like it, the purple heart looks almost pinkish
