Project Information

I've been working on this project on and off for 2 years. It was the largest project I have ever undertaken. It has been an incredible learning experience for me and I am so happy with the way it turned out. Yesterday, I took it out for a photoshoot. I brought it back to the spot in the forest where the cherry tree that produced most of the lumber for this piece grew. The doors, lid, and drawer fronts all came from that tree.

Overall dimensions: 7'6" tall, 41? wide, 21? deep
Primary wood is cherry and secondary is hard maple
Hardware: H hinges from Ball & Ball, all other hardware from Horton Brasses
Finish: General Finishes Arm-r-Seal Semi-gloss
Slightly adapted plans from: Building Period Furniture by Glen Huey

Yes, there are 3 behind the prospect box and there are 2 small compartments in the upper case behind the backboards. Thank you!

Looking for an adjective that hasn't already been used. Let's just say that you've done justice to that cherry tree. I'll be very lucky if, one day, I can leave behind something half as nice as your work.

That is one absolutely beautiful job. Everything about it is just perfect. This is one that will be passed down through the generations! And made from a tree from your yard? perfect. Love the photography, taking it back to where the tree grew. Superior job!
