Project Information

Sculpted rocker made of Cherry.
I know there are quite a few similar rockers posted using plans from Hal Taylor. Here's my shot at one. I used two sequential slabs of very wide cherry. (picture) The only thing I changed from the plan is the arm design. I made mine a little more round to suit me.
Total time was 6 months 23 days. About 80 to 100 hours total.
It was a great learning experience and I will probably make another.

Very nice. I have been wanting to try my hand at one of these for some time now. It will probably take me three times as long to finish.

Great Job!

Very beautiful chair in the Maloof style. You can tell by the close ups that you spent many hours sanding and the finish is extraordinary. Kudos.
