Project Information

Ths trivet and cutting/serving board were made from shop scraps. They were the first such projects I've attempted. The trivet (square piece) was more challenging to clamp, but the cutting serving board (rectangular piece) warped during glue-up and required much more router "planing" to make it flat. The trivet is rubbed with mineral oil. The cutting/serving board is finished with gloss urethane on the show side-unfinished on the working side.

Great looking pieces you got there. I have used scraps the same way. I have a 3' X 3' table that I made from wood scraps. I'll have to post it soon.

A good use of scraps. I like the design on the trivet.
