Project Information

Christmas time seems to also be cutting board time, so not to be left out…these are end grain cutting boards made from scraps that have been laying around a while (walnut, cherry, maple). They both come from the same initial glue-up stage. In the second glue-up stage, on one, I offset each successive piece 1/4 inch or so. In the other the pieces were just alternatively switched end-for-end. I kind of like the effect of the staggered one.

Finish is butcher block oil.

GOLLY! Those almost look like Indian woven Blankets… out of wood!!

Simply amazing! You sure had a lot of planning, cutting & glueing for parts before you even got o the point of making the Cutting Boards!

Just AWESOME… COOL… best cutting boards I have ever seen!

Thank you!

Ding, Ding, Ding - we have a winner!

You could serve stale crackers and spoiled cheese on that first board, and people would only notice the pattern. Nice work.

Too nice to cut on and besides, if you try to look at what you are cutting, your eyes might cross and "you'll cut your finger off, Ralphie" (a la A Christmas Story).

Good work. I will put this one in my favorite group. Thanks for the post.

Very nice!!!
I love the patterns of both. Great idea..
Just when you think, Oh no, it's another cutting board.. something like this comes along. That's what I like about the Jocks, someone will always come up with something different. I happen to like making cutting boards as gifts.

Terrific job

Wow. I wouldn't want to cut on them for fear of scratching them. A work of art!
