Hah, that's a great little advent calendar!

I can't tell from the picture though - is there anything that holds the Santa inside the chimney (like a dado along each side?) Or does he stay in pretty good as it is?

He stays in pretty well. I did consider dadoes, but then the youngsters wouldn't be able to take Santa out easily - he would have to be slid up and out the top. so I left it as the original design.

As you are unable to get it from FurniturePlans you can find it at http://www.donjohnson24.co.uk/images/5200-Santa-Chimney.pdf. If you are unable to print it from there, send me an email at [email protected] and I'll include the pdf in a reply. A hint from me would be that the slots need to fit the sliding blocks quite closely so that they do not droop, but remember to allow for the thickness of paint on the top and bottom surfaces. 10 years on and still used at Christmas
