Workshop Information

Hi,my name is Jim McCutcheon and living in Ireland.I built my workshop during the last 18 months,we only moved here by the sea two years ago and converted the old chicken coup area into a workshop,and am only getting started on some projects (small ones) now.
I came upon Lumberjocks via me old mate in the States and I am enjoying all your posts,it has rekindled my love of woodwork,keep them coming.

Thanks for welcoming me to this group. I am already enjoying it quite a bit.

I was just looking at the pisc of your shop, and saw the ones where you are threading a wooden dowel.
That makes me wonder:
  • Is this a regular die (or is it dye??) for threads on metal?
  • what size is it?
  • does the thread hold up in real use?
  • did you treat the wood in any way before/or after cutting?

Lots ofxquestions!
I am looking forwad to the answers
