Project Information

I have enjoyed turning damaged, diseased wood pieces into something beautiful. Here's another example of same. These pieces are unique in that what ever took control of the tree left behind waves, spalting and unexpected changes in the pattern. Many craftsmen can tell the type of wood by its grain. But probably not with these pieces. This medallion is about 2" across its largest point and 1/4 - 3/8' thick. Finished only with wipe-on poly, the piece was also subject to a burning process on the edges and toward the bottom of each side. This adds some depth and interest.
