Project Information

I have been dying to build this and finally got around to it this weekend. This is a table I found with plans in the fall 2011 issue of Wood Magazine( best ever shop ideas ). The plans called for a custom built top but Rockler just recently put their tops on sale. I got the top, fence, router plate, and safety accessory kit for around $200. I have $70 in materials to build the table itself. Turn out pretty good. Now I just have to come up with a new project to put the table to work. Can't wait!!!

Have you thought about adding dust collection to the cabinet? Seems like that would be the only thing it's lacking really!

Todd,

Stellar job on the build of the r.t…....It'll serve you well in the coming years, especially when building things like furniture, shop cabinets, jigs, etc. A good router table is a "must-have" tool in the shop. Good construction on the cabinet, and like LonelyRaven mentioned, good dust collection is just about a must on these tables…..they do make a mess….:). One thing I would recommend you do: Put a couple of coats of tung oil or polyurethane on the cabinet to keep the wood from drying out over time…..Besides….it looks nice… Have fun…work safe….

Great router table. For a project, buy a lock miter bit and use it to make box corners. It goes well with a outer table!! thanks for sharing…..............Jim

This is awesome. I think I need to build one too. Are the plans still around? Will search Rockler for a top.
