Project Information

Bought this Kreg router table. Discovered it sure would be nice to keep all my router related stuff in one place. So I decided "cabinetize" the Kreg stand. One requirement I had was that the setup would have to be easy to disassemble. I didn't want anything too permanent in case I want to make changes.

At the Milwaukee Woodworkers show I asked the Kreg rep if there are any plans for this or if anyone had done this before. He said no. Was kind of surprised at this.

Anyway, I made the drawers from Lee Valley Metal Side Slides. This made quick work of all the drawers. Drawer fronts are ¼ Baltic Birch Plywood. I made the drawer handles out of Poplar. Got the idea from a guest speaker at the Milwaukee Woodworkers guild, very simple and functional.

The framing is MDF with a ¾ Baltic Birch Plywood base. The dust chamber is very effective (thank god). The dust chamber assembly can slid out and will bolt in place to the metal stand.

Very impressive. I especially like the Lee Valley sides to the drawers.

I have just purchased this same router table and have been very impressed with the quality of the table and the fence. Was a little bummed at $500 it does not come with any sort of lift system, but none the less a great product. I was thinking along the same line in making storage to keep all items in one place. Good work it looks great.

That is very clean and looks great. I'm looking at this same router table and was going to just build a box around the router but this such a better use of space. Good Job
