Project Information

Not sure if anyone else uses laminate flooring for jig bases, but I've used it for this coping sled and a miter key sled for the router table. It's thin, but has very little flex to it. The thin base saves me from buying an extension collet to raise the bit height high enough to make the cut. The trick is to glue the tongue and groove and as long as there's going to be a couple rails screwed to each end (like in this sled), it won't snap in half. Stuff works good for a zero clearance insert too.

This sled is 10" x 15".

Inspirational, Inovative & Awesome!!!

I WILL be stealing that idea. I have a nearly free supply of laminate flooring at my disposal and tons of shop fixtures & jigs to make.

Thanks for posting this!

Looks very nice I like it. I have been thinking about doing/buying something like this. So far I have used a simple square block behind to ride the fence and push the piece through.

I notice this is a slot rider, Any comments on the pros and cons of slot riders Versus fence rider.
