A nice slab of timber you have there, what is it?
Your are getting good results, but thats a pretty evil looking bit for a small router is it not? I hope you are taking small bites on each pass !

The wood is from a fir that had died and blew over a couple years back. A friend thought it would be a funny joke to bring it to me. I am using a 1 1/4 inch bit, the first few passes were harry but after I got the feel it wasn't to bad. Like any tool, always give it the respect it deserves.

Great slab and setup. Looking good, it is surprising how easy it is to level a slab. Looks like you are going to make a great table out of that joke. I have been leveling up a few maple and walnut slabs, you can't get hoggy with that big of bit. I learned real quick slow and easy gets the best results.
