Project Information

Built a version of this table 15 years ago out of construction grade lumber.
Lasted a long time but finally exposure took its toll. This is a very, very sturdy design. This time I added bread board ends on the seats and mortise and tenon picture frame on the top. Hid all the screws by counter sinking and plugging. 4 carriage bolts will fasten top to frame as well as 4 bolts per seat. I will seal it with Helmsman exterior satin. Maybe this one will outlast me this time.

Nice work. It is a good design and great looking wood. I haven't had great luck with helmsman holding up more than a couple years if exposed to the elements. Sikkens Cetol holds up a lot better and is much easier to renew than spar poly.
