Here's my latest project. I took and old 2×8 and cut it in half. Cut a 1.5" deep dado in each of the edges and then used a piece of walnut at the spline. I Rough cut the circle on the table saw taking away little pieces at a time and then used my Rigid spindle sander with the belt on it to finish off the circle. Then rounded over all the edges including the hole for the rope and applie about 6 coats of spray on poly….. works great…..
