Project Information

This is a little rolling drawer I made for under my workbench in my shed here is Casa Grande. I have a lot of wasted space in back because I can't reach back there to retrieve stuff pushed all the way back. I had thought about a solution and then I found these casters for $2 at a flea market. The rest of the drawer is made from scrap 2×6's and chip board. It is 24×37 and fits in a 17" high opening. I had to immobilize the swiveling casters with forked blocks. it is just what I need here!!

Cheers, Jim

ps. I just added another drawer above this one. It is on full extension ball bearing slides. It makes that middle space much more useful.

I like it Jim. Anything to improve the shop.(shed) Cleaned up my lumber areas today and made a rack to hold some of the expensive stuff to keep it separate. Easier to find now. Hope to see you late next week. Will give you a call if things work out.

Thanks, Dave. I look forward to seeing you. I need to visit John at the saw mill with a little pot I made for him.

Looks good, works good, saves space and lets you find your stuff (stuff you thought you had but couldn't find). Great job….

It's funny how we see a space in the shop and 'figger' a way to fill it up …

Thank you all for the nice comments. it sure helped me out in the shed.
I'm planning a pull out drawer for the space above it. I found the full extension slides here real cheap.

I have vertigo today and had to get out of the shop very quickly and lay down. I can finally sit up to work this laptop.

cheers, Jim

Clever and well executed utilization of space. I have a similar slide out drawer under one of my reloading equipment/supply shelves for storing 25 lb. bags is shot and lead bullets.

Thanks Roger, John and Tooch.
This only has 1/4" clearance on the bottom so the tool case would clear. A small piece of pea gravel could bind it up!! That is what the broom is for, though!!

Cheers, Jim
