This is a nice cutter, Dusty. And you happened to use my favorite wood combination. It looks really good and good idea for including the mineral streaking in its construction.

CAn I get some tips on how to do the gravy trough like you did? I tried a homemade jig but always had a corner come out unsquare on me….looking for ideas/pics???

Hi Royal , A lot of folks use templates to guide their routers on , but seeing as all of my boards are custom sizes , I would need to make a template for each one : (
Instead , I simply use an edge guide for the straight runs and very , very carefully connect the corners. I use a router speed control (and a sharp bit) to help avoid burning in the corners because of the slow rate of travel .
If you need some pictures , I could make some for you next time I make a board : )
p.s. Practice , practice , practice…...and remember to make several shallow cuts rather than hogging it all out at once….that will give you more control and lessen the chance of burning in the corners or possibly worse : )
Depending on the size of my board , I will either use my PC690 router with the PC Edge Guide or my Bosch Colt with the stock edge guide.
