GRAND SLAM ! This is the best I have seen on here in quite a while. The burl is magnificent and you did it justice but the legs are just as nice. Man this is just a beautiful piece of artistic craftsmanship. Very well done, my friend.

incredible, truly magnificent. I can only imagine the size of room needed for this piece. And the legs are what really make it for me. I'm from the great white north but from what I've read aren't the redwoods protected. I may be wrong on this.

Thanks. Some redwoods are protected, it varies from county to county and and even city to city. You can however buy reclaimed or recovered or just plain new growth redwood slabs from any number of online lumber dealers.

Stunning grain exposure, nice transitions on edges, very fine. Congratulations!

How did the legs attach to the table top? I don't see a frame, or any joinery to make them (3 leg assys) to the table….

Fantastic. There's a place here in Berkeley that sells nothing but Redwood slabs and burls. Some really cool pieces.

What did you make the legs from?
