Project Information

What can you make from some "scrap" pieces laying around in the shop. These beautiful candle stands. They are made from Walnut and finished with 3 coats of spayed on clear shellac and buffed out with a brown paper bag. A fun project and the brownie points don't hurt either! Thanks for looking Steve

Thanks for all the nice comments! They were fun to build and surprisingly sturdy! I messed around with different sized based from pine before deciding on this one.

Beautiful! I hope there is enough weight in the base to keep them from tipping over on a full extension.

For whatever reason I have always wanted to build something similar. I have no need for them nor a good spot to display them but just want to build them. Yours turned out exceptional. Well done.

Very lovely use of so-called scrap. (See my Miniature Urn/Lidded Jar). Many scraps become toothpick holders. Check Rockbuster for another twist.
