Project Information
My wife got a new overlocker for her b-day, and said that she now needs a big table to cut fabric on and sew. as we are going to move in a short while i wanted something that can be easily collapsed and moved. I ended up with trestle table design. The table legs are joined with biscuits (see the third picture for my cute quality assurance department). wood is radiata pine, 2×4. If you plan on building such table, take care to fortify the end of the tanon with dowels across the grain, as i was told that the wedge will eventually throws the wood if you don't do that. the plate is MDF with Rimu edge and its glued to two 2×4 rails that goes into lapped joint (no glue in joint). I painted it with aerosol primer and paint, but i am not sure its hard enough. might have to coat it with poly or something . it takes a minute to collapse this table to 2 legs, one horizontal beam and plate with two rails.
the overall size of the plate is 180×100
