Project Information

These chalk boards were made from trim Rosettes generously provided to me by my l/j friend Charles (Helluvawreck). The dimensions are approximately 222X24 inches or something like that. :) The side pieces are pine 1X4. A Kreg jig was used to connect the rosettes to the side pieces. The inside panel is painted first with flat black paint, then chalkboard paint. The frame is painted in layers and the finish is distressed- sanded then a final coat of dark stain (wipe on wipe off) applied.

THANK YOU CHARLES!

GM- I just use what I have. I hope for new ideas. Sometimes the well runs dry, and sometimes I am just too hot and old and tired to work any more. ;0

These chalk boards really look great, Kelly. I mean to tell you that you have those finishes down pat. We loved the coasters that you sent us. After I took 'em out of the box and showed them to my wife, Claire, she took 'em and put them right in our den. She said that she loved the finish and looked old. You were very kind to send us those. I'm fixin to make 300 for someone else - maybe a house not sure. However, I'll send you another batch real soon because it looks like you are going to need them. Your work is looking better every time I see something new and it also seems that your creativity is flowing quite well also. God Bless and keep up the great work.

You are too much Charles. :) Thank you! Glad your wife liked the coasters. :) I sent the beachy colors because you live in the south. If she would prefer a different color- black, brown, red, mustard etc. just let me know and I will send them to you. :) Manitario- you can build one for your office. :) Easy stuff.
