Project Information

Ok so I went back to the real basics on this and slowed down and took the time to learn to better use some of my tools. They do not look like much but I got a good amount of practice on Router Table, and taking my time on sanding down and finishing a project. If you look at my last two you can tell I did not take as much time on the finishing.

The best part about these though is that they are very useful and as you can see have already been put to use.

I actually made three coat racks, I used the one I hung in my shop to make some mistakes with and used some cheaper hooks on that one. I also made a matching key board which I still have to mount.
The high one is 36" inches long while the low one for my daughter is 24" (she loves that she has a place to hang her coat now)

Thanks All.

Nice work - I often have to make myself slow down and do things the way I know that they should.

Nice projects. Sometimes we need to just get in the shop and do a quick build simply to complete something quick and relatively easy. It serves as a nice break in the routine. It is wonderful that you made such a useful project as well.

Looking good. I'm glad you made one low enough for the little one. Makes her feel special I'm sure.

If it is made by hand, it can never be "not much". Looks great!

I love the fact you thought enough to make a special coat rake for your daughter. Your a great Dad and that's one of the most important projects of all. Looking forward to more great projects.

Good job. Also, nice that you made your daughter feel special with her own coat rack.

Thanks everyone, My daughter loves that she knows where to find her coat. I mounted it a little high on purpose so that she kind of grows into it. She is though very good about taking her coat off and handing it to us to hang up. Looking forward to when she can hang t up herself, though not with too much anticipation if you know what I mean :) (18 months and it went by like a blur)
