Project Information

I carved this horse head from a block of teak using an angle grinder with an 80grit flap disk,I used my 2nd new dremel for the detailing,(the first one broke after 5 minutes really light use!)I hope this dremel last longer than the first! Its my first attempt at a horse I thought it looked very horse like until I took the pictures now I am not so sure!
I made the plaque with two pieces of walnut I pocket holed and glued together,i really enjoyed making the plaque.I glued the horses head to the plaque and drilled pilot holes for two screws with a counter sink bit to put screws into the head to pull it tight on the glue and put two wall hangers on the back.I was really pleased with the joint as you cannot tell its 2 joined boards from the front.
I finished it with sandpaper from 80 to 1200grit then used danish oil.I really enjoyed the project!
