Project Information

Using a Wheel cap as an inset ornament in the top the box is obviously for a Porsche Lover. The wood is Jatoba. Splines, top decoration and top handle are redheart, yellowheart, and ebony. Those are the colors of the German flag. Box is 11 inches x 6 1/2 inches x 4 inches tall. Top is tapered to accent the inset.
Made two of these, one was given to the Porsche Dealer's Service Manager. He has been very good to me and my Cayman. Hope this will inspire more good service and great loaner cars.

This one is mine. Wife has it filled with candy. Service Manger, called and said a customer ask if he would sell his, He declined the offer, Has it on his desk at the dealership. Did say he had some wheel caps for me next time I was in.

Nicely Done Ron, the spline wood choice is a great addition, Sounds like you will be making more of those if the service manager has some caps for you. Well Done.

Nice, I like how you made the splines and the stripes match up.

Nice box Ron. Hope it is successful ;) There aren't many project views. Wonder how long it will take for normal traffic to return?

Itsa Beauty, Ron. Handle is an eye-catcher. Any particular reason you use cork for the bottom?

No real reason except it deadens any noise of something like keys or such being placed in. Sometimes I use a ply bottom and the cork makes a good coverup. Have also used felt on boxes given to the girls as jewelry boxes. Thanks for noticing.
