Showcase cover image for Planer cart

Project Information

I built this cart based off of multiple carts and put my own twist on it. I had problems with the filter clogging and turning into an air compressor at first but made a new filter today that has more surface area and it works great, I have to remove the filter to remove the can put I don't mind I'll prob need to clean the filter once it's full anyways I used some leftover screen material to expand the filter. The trash can has push clamps around the bottom to lift the can and create a seal. And I also included a peep hole to see when the can is full.

Nice design! I have a question, though.

Do you hook up a vacuum to this or do you rely on the planer to eject the wood chips through the hose into the can? Thanks.

Cheers!

I just rely on the blower it works great I had to revise this the small filter got clogged quickly. Not I have a 90* fitting coming out of where the filter was and have a Rockler dust right filter bag attached and have had no problems since
