Project Information
I cast around for a long while trying to find a better way to store my planes. I had built a saw till, (also included in the first picture) last summer and finally decided that my plane storage should be a companion sized piece. I looked over all kinds of different options but most things seemed so locked into building cubbies for specific size planes and that didn't seem right for me, especially for my woodies.
Eventually the solution it seemed best to go with was the simplest. A shelf. A simple shelf.
I built the shelf to companion with my saw till so it has the same dimensions 40" tall by 30" wide, 9" deep, built from white pine using almost all hand tools. You can catch all the details of the build on my blog by going here.
