Project Information

The wife's grandfather was a woodworker/artist and the last image is one of the cutting boards he made many years ago…. I cleaned it up a bit…. I copied his design and made mine out of Hickory, then oiled it with mineral oil. I thought a little red heart in the tail would help as well.
There happened to be a small knot hole right where the eye would be so I filled it with dark blue sand and CA glue.

Mike,
My mom had a cutting board just like the one you wife's grandfather made. She had it forever and violated every cutting board rule there was. It sat behind the kitchen faucets and was submerged in water more than I was and never saw any new application of oil on it. However, it lasted through out my childhood and maybe my sister still has it. Thank you for posting. It brought back wonderful memories
