Project Information

This is a white oak, Stickley style picture (4×6). frame. it was fun to build I used a little hand tools and a little power. mortise & tendon joints and it pivots on a brass pin. the finish is roofing tar (mineral spirits to cut) and topped with 2coat shellac then wax. I was going for a antique look.

It is my Dads B-Day and I thought he would like a this.

I made a few of these, lots of hand work to get the fit right in a small frame like this. Nice job. The finish came out great! I'm sure Dad will like it.

Nicely done. Interesting choice of finish - I'd never heard of using roofing tar before, but it looks good. I also like the stand idea - I've been trying to come up with ideas for a frame stand for my own frames.
