Project Information

Pencil box on mulberry (very hard and dense), also known as American elm. Box joints 1/8 inch, plexiglass lid and base. Finished with beeswax. My own design.

Cartuchera de madera de mora amarilla (muy dura y pesada), también conocida como olmo americano. Juntas malletadas de 3 mm, tapa y base de policarbonato. Terminada con cera de abejas. Diseño propio.

Martin, nice design. I like the see-through top idea. Why did you opt not to have a handle to open the sliding lid? You chose a beautiful piece of elm for this. I like that you decided to celebrate the plug you glued in the slot for the bottom board. Nice work keep boxing and keep posting.

- KOVA: Suerte con la caja para la Black! No usé acrílico porque no lo consigo con facilidad, es policarbonato y sale mucho más caro…
- lew: thanks! not only the top is clear, too the base!
- gepatino: gracias! La cera de abejas está rebajada con aguarrás. Se prepara similar a la cera de abejas para las tablas de picar, pero con aguarrás en vez de vaselina líquida. No es apta para usar en contacto con alimentos.
- Boxguy: is a see-through top and base! No need the handle, the friction against the finger is sufficient to open. And the lid can be used as a rule! Thanks!

YO TAMBIÉN TENGO POLICARBONATO QUE ME SOBRÓ DE UNAS PIZARRAS TRANSPARENTES: UNO DICE ACRÍLICO PERO ESTOY SEGURO DE QUE EL NEGOCIO DONDE LAS FUÍ A COMPRAR DECÍA "POLICARBONATO" JAJAJAJAJAJAJA

Martin, I see now that both top and bottom are transparent. I missed that in the photo. Thanks for the correction. Again…nice job.
